How would you like to learn about the effects of bathing more than once a day on your health and beauty?
Most of us take one or more showers a day. But if you ask yourself why we need to clean ourselves every 24 hours, you may find that we shower too much. In fact, taking a shower frequently does not benefit us in terms of our appearance or even our health. Especially taking more than one shower during the day has serious negative consequences. Here are some of the negative effects of frequent washing on your skin and health;
1. WEAKNESS YOUR IMMUNITY
You may think that taking a shower every day is healthier than taking a shower less often, but in reality it’s the opposite. Frequent showers can disrupt the balance of microorganisms in the skin, making the skin less protected and more vulnerable to infection. Our immune system needs a certain stimulation by bacteria and dirt, and showering too often can weaken the immune system and its ability to protect us against viruses.
2. AGES YOUR SKIN
Long, hot showers can feel relaxing and leave your skin squeaky clean, but they can also contribute to premature aging. Your skin is covered with an oily outer layer that traps moisture to keep skin looking plump and youthful for longer. Washing and scrubbing can remove this protective layer, making your skin irritated, wrinkled, and dry.
3. YOUR HAIR LOSE SHINE
As contradictory as it may sound, washing your hair every day can eventually make it look even more dull and greasy. When you wash your hair every day, you remove the outer layer of sebum, which acts as a protective shield against damage. In response, your pores will begin to produce more of this substance, causing your scalp to become itchy and irritated, eventually clogging the pores. This can sabotage hair growth, preventing your hair from feeling and looking its best.
4. IT CAUSES YOU TO LOSE WEIGHT
Taking a relaxing shower right after eating a delicious meal may sound tempting, but this habit can actually cause you to gain extra pounds. Digesting food requires proper blood flow to the stomach. When you take a shower, it causes your body temperature to drop, which confuses your digestive system. When done regularly, this can damage your digestive system and cause you to gain some weight.
5. INVITATION TO ALLERGIES
Showering too often can be a contributing factor to your pesky allergies. When the acid mantle of the skin is damaged, it reduces its ability to fight external stimuli. Washing away all the dirt from the skin makes your immune system lazy, which can lead to allergies, asthma and even diabetes.
6. NEGATIVELY INFLUENCES YOUR REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH
Like our skin, the sensitive area around your private parts needs a balance of bacteria to stay healthy. The water we clean ourselves with can contain heavy metals and other harmful chemicals, let alone the many perfumes and artificial additives found in soaps and shower gels. Exposing yourself to these chemicals every day can disturb the good bacteria in your private areas, causing itching, irritation and various infections.
